Why it helps

Recovery can make everyday cooking hard

An injury can make standing, lifting, shopping or food preparation difficult, either temporarily or through a longer rehabilitation period.

Physical injury

Support when standing, lifting, chopping or using kitchen equipment is limited.

Post-surgical recovery

Meals can be prepared while the client rests and avoids unnecessary strain.

Chronic pain

Reduce the physical load of planning, cooking and cleaning during lower-capacity periods.

Rehab assistance

Keep fresh meals available while energy and mobility are being rebuilt.

Our service helps clients access fresh, home-cooked meals without adding strain during recovery.

Funding process

How workers compensation funding works

The usual process is straightforward once a budget or service scope has been approved.

  1. 1Approval is confirmedThe insurer or case manager approves a budget for home support.
  2. 2We prepare a quoteOur team prepares a quote within the approved allocation and service needs.
  3. 3We arrange bookingsWe source a cook in the area and manage the appointments.
  4. 4We invoice directlyFor approved services, we invoice the insurer directly.

Important to know

Grocery costs are not usually covered and remain the client's responsibility. Any service outside the approved budget is discussed in advance, and costs are confirmed before proceeding.

Services

Available support depends on the approved funding

We can match the booking type to the client's capacity, appetite and funding arrangement.

Full Cook

25+ serves

A larger meal prep appointment for clients who need a substantial fridge or freezer reset.

Mini Cook

15+ serves

A smaller cook for lighter appetites, shorter approval windows or lower support needs.

Kitchen Hand

Prep support or meal kit cooking

Practical help with ingredient prep, batch portioning or cooking meal kit deliveries.

Time-limited support

We manage bookings around the approved recovery period

Workers compensation support is often approved for a set period, so we help keep the service organised inside that window.

Schedule within approval

We schedule bookings inside the approved timeframe wherever cook availability allows.

Monitor the period

Our team can help track time-limited approvals so appointments are planned sensibly.

Support extensions

If further support is needed, we can work with the case manager on next steps.

Before the first cook

What the client needs ready

A little preparation helps the appointment run smoothly.

  • Clean kitchen and clear bench space for preparation
  • Onsite parking available for your cook
  • A working oven, or a request for oven-free meals
  • Dietary requirements shared in advance
  • Accessibility needs or kitchen limitations discussed before the booking

If the kitchen has challenges, let us know. We are experienced working in a wide range of home kitchen environments and will look for a workable solution.
