"People didn't need more meal kits or delivery. They needed real food, cooked in their own home, without the stress."

How we started

How I Hate Cooking Began

I Hate Cooking was founded by Bek Daley after stepping in to help a friend from church, who was cooking for a loved one with Alzheimer's.

The family had support, but it wasn't ideal. Meals were inconsistent, the friend hated cooking, but was aware that proper nutrition was important.

Bek's gifting is feeding, so In a single visit, she prepared 25 home-cooked meals from a simple, affordable shopping list.

That moment highlighted a clear gap: people didn't need more meal kits or delivery. They needed real food, cooked in their own home, without the stress.

What Problem Does I Hate Cooking Solve?

Many households struggle with

  • Time
  • Energy
  • Skills
  • Decision fatigue

This includes

  • Busy families and singles
  • Carers
  • Elderly individuals
  • People with disabilities
  • Anyone who simply hates cooking

We remove the pressure of daily cooking by delivering a practical, in-home meal preparation service that fits real life.

What Does an In-Home Cooking Service Include?

A professional cook comes to your home and:

Prepares multiple meals in your kitchen

Uses your ingredients (or we organise them for you)

Portions meals into containers

Cleans up before leaving

Most sessions produce

15–25+ meals

per visit.

This is meal prep done for you, in your own home.

How Does I Hate Cooking Differ From Meal Delivery?

Unlike meal delivery services or meal kits:

  • We don't deliver food, we cook it in your home
  • No preservatives, additives, no mass production
  • Meals are tailored to your household, your tastes, and your dietary needs
  • Your fridge is filled with fresh, home-cooked meals

Think of it as:

A personal chef experience, without the luxury price tag.

Is I Hate Cooking Similar to a Home Cleaning Service?

Yes! That's the easiest way to understand it.

Just like a cleaner comes to your home to clean, we come to your home to cook.

You get the outcome without doing the work.

Our in-home cooking service across Australia is ideal for:

  • NDIS participants needing meal preparation support
  • Elderly individuals wanting to stay independent
