I Hate CookingCook preparing fresh food in a home kitchen

Who we support

Simple, flexible meal preparation in your home.

A professional cook comes to your home and prepares fresh, home-cooked meals using your kitchen and ingredients.

NDIA managed

We can support NDIA-managed participants where the relevant funding for household tasks or meal prep are provided.

Plan managed

Plan-managed participants can use relevant line items for household tasks or meal prep are provided, or use their funding for a support worker.

Self managed

Self-managed participants can access our standard prepay service and request tax invoices when needed.

How it works

Fresh meals without taking over daily life.

  1. 1Choose your mealsSelect meals that suit your goals, preferences and dietary needs
  2. 2Book your cookChoose the service and appointment time that works for your home and support needs.
  3. 3Shop or arrange deliveryYou can shop for ingredients yourself, or we can help organise delivery - Groceries are paid for by the client.
  4. 4Cook, pack, label, and clean upYour cook prepares meals, packs them, labels them, and leaves the kitchen tidy.

We provide ingredient labels and reheating instructions so daily meals are easier to manage.

Funding clarity

When meal preparation support may be relevant

If your plan includes goals related to daily living, independent living, nutrition, or reducing reliance on others, meal preparation support may be considered reasonable and necessary.

Common line items

NDIA-managed clients may use 01_023_0120_1_1 for assistance with the cost of preparation and delivery of meals, excluding ingredients. As we cook in home, 01_020_0120_1_1 is also available.

Groceries are separate

The NDIS does not cover food costs. Typical grocery spend is around $100-$150 for a Full Cook or $80-$100 for a Mini Cook.

Practical notes

What to know before booking

Participant involvement

Full Cook and Mini Cook sessions are designed to be efficient and time-based, so cooks generally need to stay on schedule. Skill-building support is better suited to Cook, Eat, Repeat.

Dietary requirements

We support a wide range of needs, including gluten free, dairy free, low FODMAP, diabetic friendly, low carb, vegetarian, vegan, post-bariatric, AIP, GAPS, and more.

Qualified cooks

Cooks are food-handling certified, compliant with food safety requirements, insured, and police checks are available on request.
